Impressions of the Dien Bien Phu Victory through Placards

The Mass Culture Department (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) announced 70 placards to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory – an important commemorative event of the nation. This resounding victory is of great historical value and significance to our people’s revolutionary motivation and the world, especially the national liberation movements.

The set of posters consists of 70 works selected from over 500 pieces by nearly 300 authors nationwide who participated in the creative competition. Many creations evoke the heroic memories and historical moments of the Vietnamese army and people that made up the Dien Bien Phu Victory, which shook the world.

🌟 The image of the cargo bicycle has become a legend, symbolising the strength and fighting spirit of the Vietnamese people.

🌟 The image of the Dien Bien Phu soldiers in their “tran thu” vests (sleeveless padded warming vests) and mesh hats covered with camouflage leaves. These are the typical uniforms of our soldiers during the Dien Bien Phu Campaign.

🌟 The image of President Ho Chi Minh – who directly oversaw the situation at the Dien Bien Phu front and always provided timely encouragement to the cadres and soldiers.

🌟 The portraits of General Vo Nguyen Giap – the Commander-in-Chief of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign and his name is always associated with this historic victory of the nation.

This anniversary is to honour and express gratitude for the great contributions of our cadres, soldiers, and people from various walks of life, and to promote the tradition of patriotism and the strength of great national unity.
