On May 21, 2024, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai welcomed a delegation of senior students from the 64th Class of the Indian National Defence Academy, led by Major General Kumar Singh, at the Embassy of Viet Nam in India before the delegation’s field trip to Viet Nam from May 26 to June 2, 2024.
Major General Kumar spoke highly of the good tradition of cooperation between Viet Nam and India, including in the defence field. He emphasized that the delegation of senior students was looking forward to their visit to Viet Nam to learn about Viet Nam’s history, traditions, and foreign and defence policies, as well as opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in the field of defence.
At the meeting, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai highlighted the remarkable features of the Vietnam-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, emphasizing that defence cooperation is one of the most important pillars of bilateral cooperation. The Ambassador appreciated the exchange of military and defence delegations between the two countries over the past time and believed that the delegation’s visit to Viet Nam was a practical activity for the senior students of the Indian National Defence Academy to learn more about Viet Nam’s history, development, and defence policy. He expressed his belief that after the visit, the delegation would have practical knowledge about the country and people of Viet Nam, and would contribute to promoting defence cooperation in particular and the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries in general in the coming time./.
