From November 11 to 13, 2024, a delegation from the Communist Party of Viet Nam, led by Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, a member of the Politburo, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, had a working visit to India.
During the visit, the delegation laid flowers at the Ho Chi Minh statue; met with the Vice President and Chairman of the Indian Senate, Jagdeep Dhankhar; held discussions with the Secretary-General of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Tarun Chugh; the Acting General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Prakash Karat; the General Secretary of the Communist Party of India, D. Raja; engaged in academic exchanges with the leadership of the Indian Council of World Affairs; met with the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) and witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the Indian Institute of Public Administration; visited the Integrated Physical Network Technology and Innovation Center; and spoke with officials and staff at the Embassy of Viet Nam in India.
During the meeting with the staff at the Embassy of Viet Nam in India, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai reported to Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang and the delegation on the Viet Nam India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the implementation of the positive outcomes from the official visit to India by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang shared updates on the socio-economic development in Viet Nam and key directions for the nation’s advancement.
The visit contributed to deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, enhancing mutual understanding and trust.
