The election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term is an important political event for the country, scheduled to take place on Sunday, 15 March 2026. This is not only a political and legal activity of special significance, but also a broad-based democratic exercise across society, enabling voters nationwide to directly exercise their democratic rights and choose outstanding representatives who reflect the will and aspirations of the people.
According to statistics, nearly 79 million voters nationwide are expected to cast their ballots in this election. Specifically, based on reports from 34 provinces and centrally governed cities, the voter lists have been publicly posted, with 78,928,647 voters registered to vote at 72,195 polling stations across the country. The voter figures will continue to be updated by localities. Given such a large scale, the election is regarded as a major national event, in which each citizen exercises both the right and responsibility to select qualified, capable, and reputable representatives to serve the people in the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels.
As of now, preparations for Election Day have been carried out in a coordinated, thorough and orderly manner and are basically complete in accordance with the legal timetable. In many localities nationwide, the atmosphere ahead of Election Day is vibrant and active. Along major streets, in residential areas and at polling locations, national flags, banners, posters and publicity slogans have been displayed prominently, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere in anticipation of this important national event.



Election Day on 15 March 2026 is expected to proceed smoothly and truly become a major festival of the entire people, contributing to the consolidation of the political system and enhancing the effectiveness of the National Assembly and local administrations in the new term.
