During the working trip to India from November 7 to 11, 2024, the delegation from the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front (VFF), led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha – member of the Central Party Committee, Vice President, and General Secretary, carried out various activities aimed at promoting friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Viet Nam and India.
Vice President of the VFF, Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, visited the Embassy of Viet Nam in India, where Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai reported on the positive results in promoting the comprehensive strategic partnership and friendly relations between Viet Nam and India, as well as efforts in solidarity in the locality. Vice President Nguyen Thi Thu Ha shared updates on the situation in Viet Nam, listened to, and addressed the opinions of the Vietnamese community abroad, emphasizing that the Vietnamese community overseas is always an inseparable part of the nation. Representatives from attached offices within the embassy and members of the expatriate community also attended.
After laying a wreath at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in G20 Park, situated in the center of New Delhi, the delegation held meetings with Mariam Alexander Baby, Head of Foreign Affairs of the Communist Party of India (Marxist); R. Venkaiah, a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of India; and Rajeev Kumar, Director of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), to discuss further strengthening the traditional friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, as well as promoting collaboration between grassroots organizations in India and Viet Nam. She also highlighted the role of the VFF in connecting and uniting the people and expressed the desire to enhance people-to-people diplomacy and cultural exchanges between the two nations.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha also expressed gratitude to India for supporting Viet Nam in various aspects, from the restoration project of My Son cultural heritage to providing scholarships for Vietnamese students, and expressed the hope that the ICCR would continue to deepen its connections with Viet Nam. Additionally, she thanked the leadership of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) for their heartfelt condolences on the passing of former General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, reflecting the close and friendly relationship between the two communist parties.
