India–Vietnam Promote Cooperation in Electronics and Information Technology

More than 100 enterprises, along with leaders from over 20 leading business associations, chambers of commerce and industry from Vietnam and India, participated in the Vietnam–India Electronics and Information Technology Business Forum 2026, held on March 23 in New Delhi. The forum provided an opportunity for businesses from both countries to connect, enhance cooperation, and promote investment.

The forum was organized by the Embassy of Vietnam in India in coordination with relevant partners, with the aim of strengthening cooperation and investment between the two countries in high technology, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation.

This event also forms part of a series of activities commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam–India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (2016–2026).

The forum brought together over 100 enterprises and leaders from more than 20 prominent trade and industry associations of both countries, including the Vietnam Electronic Industries Association (VEIA), the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA), the Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA), the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the Global Trade and Technology Council of India (GTTCI), and the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM).

In his opening remarks, Ambassador of Vietnam to India Nguyen Thanh Hai emphasized that Vietnam and India are entering a new phase of development driven by innovation, digital transformation, and integration into global value chains.

Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai highlighted Vietnam’s strategic goal of becoming a developed, high-income country by 2045 and India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, noting the strong alignment between the development strategies of the two countries.

He further noted that Vietnam is implementing key policy frameworks, including Resolution No. 57 on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, and Resolution No. 59 on enhancing international economic integration. In this context, the Government’s “Go Global” initiative is being promoted to encourage Vietnamese enterprises to expand into international markets, with India identified as a priority partner.

Presenting at the forum, Ms. Do Thi Thuy Huong, Vice Chairwoman and Secretary General of the Vietnam Electronic Industries Association (VEIA), stated that the electronics sector has become a pillar of Vietnam’s economy. Vietnam is transitioning from an assembly base to an increasingly important link in the global supply chain, supported by the participation of major technology corporations. The country’s electronics supply chain continues to improve and expand.

The forum once again attracted more than 100 enterprises and leaders from over 20 major business associations and chambers of commerce from both countries.

Emphasizing that semiconductors and artificial intelligence (AI) will be decisive factors in the coming period, Ms. Do Thi Thuy Huong expressed her hope that the forum would enable enterprises from Vietnam and India to expand networks and foster substantive cooperation opportunities in high-tech sectors.

At the same time, VEIA expects to enhance experience-sharing, attract investment, and help Vietnamese enterprises integrate more deeply into global value chains.

At the forum, Ms. Rashmi Saluja, Chairperson of the Global Trade and Technology Council of India (GTTCI), noted that Vietnam has advantages in technology costs and the ability to deploy digital solutions efficiently, thereby supporting markets such as India in adopting technology at more competitive costs.

According to Ms. Rashmi Saluja, in the context of global geopolitical fluctuations, Vietnam–India cooperation is becoming increasingly important, particularly in areas such as semiconductors, blockchain, and digital technology. GTTCI is committed to promoting technology transfer, financial support, and business incubation through cooperation with governments and relevant agencies.

During the forum, Vietnamese enterprises presented their capabilities and cooperation needs, followed by business matching and direct B2B networking sessions. Participants engaged in discussions to explore cooperation opportunities in areas such as electronics manufacturing, software services, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and technological solutions.

The forum provided an effective platform to strengthen business connectivity, promote investment, and foster substantive cooperation between Vietnamese and Indian enterprises, while reaffirming the commitment of both sides to further deepen economic and technological cooperation.

In the coming time, the Embassy of Vietnam in India will continue to work closely with partners to support business connectivity and promote the exploration of new opportunities in both markets.
