Economic Diplomacy, September 19-25

To promote Viet Nam-India economic and trade cooperation, especially implementing the instructions of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the Online Conference on Promoting Economic Diplomacy on September 19th, the Embassy of Viet Nam in India has actively supported and connected Indian localities and businesses to Vietnamese ones.

 

From September 24th to 25th, the Embassy helped the Trade and Investment Promotion Delegation of Binh Duong province led by Permanent Vice-Secretary Nguyen Hoang Thao meet with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, importers, and leaders of many large India-based companies. Previously, from September 10th to 16th, the Embassy also accompanied the Tourism – Trade – Investment Promotion Delegation of Khanh Hoa province led by Standing Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee Le Huu Hoang in a series of 14 activities with partners in Delhi and Kolkata. Currently, the Embassy is actively preparing the Conference on the promotion of agricultural and fishery products of Ben Tre province (on October 19th) and promoting cooperation between Vietnamese localities and Indian partners.

The Embassy also supports and connects Vietnamese enterprises. To specify, Son Ha Group was encouraged to expand its market and set up factories in India. Also, the delegation of the Viet Nam Association of Functional Foods attended the Indian Medical and Pharmaceutical Exhibition organized by the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India from September 21st to 23rd.

Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai worked with representatives of Adani Group on the investment in the Lien Chieu port project, with TATA Group on seeking opportunities to expand its investment sector in Viet Nam, and with business executives in the CEOs Club on promoting tourism and investment in Viet Nam.

Economic diplomacy is one of the focuses of the Vietnamese Embassy in India. In addition to promoting and connecting trade and investment, the Embassy has also conducted research and sought advice for the overall domestic development.
