On the evening of November 23rd at the Chancery of the Embassy of Viet Nam in New Delhi, India, the Embassy of Viet Nam in India solemnly celebrated the 77th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and the Viet Nam Culture Night in New Delhi to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and India. This was a major event of the Embassy after Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai presented the Letter of Credence to the President of India.
The main guest of the ceremony was Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi. Other attendees were Communist Party of India General Secretary Doraisamy Raja, Communist Party of India (Marxist) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury, leader of the ruling Indian People’s Party BJP, and Congress Party, as well as heads of representative offices of ASEAN countries and important partners of Viet Nam, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ministries, branches, government agencies, large business groups and the Vietnamese community in India.
Speaking at the ceremony, Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi expressed her appreciation for the cooperation achievements of the two countries; emphasizing the traditional, long-standing Indo-Vietnamese relationship starting from historical and cultural relations, increasingly expanded and deepened in many different fields. The MOS also recalled the good memories and contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and Indian leaders to building friendly relations between the two countries; It is expected that the cooperation between the two countries will grow more and more, meeting the expectations of the Comprehensive strategic partnership between Viet Nam and India.
Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai emphasized the significance of the event on September 2nd, 1945, and the great and historically significant achievements that Viet Nam has achieved in the past 77 years. The Ambassador emphasized the cultural cohesion between the two peoples for thousands of years, and the good relations cultivated by the leaders and peoples of the two countries for decades are invaluable assets. Citing the statement of the late Prime Minister Pham Van Dong when visiting India in 1980, relations between the two countries were “as clear as the cloudless sky”, the Ambassador thanked his Indian friends for always actively supporting Viet Nam in the previous national liberation struggle as well as in the course of construction and development. Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai expressed his joy and pride in the strong cooperation between the two countries after the Covid-19 pandemic and affirmed Viet Nam’s determination to promote the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, for peace, cooperation, and development of each country, of the region and the world.
Also, on the evening of 23/11/2022, guests and friends of India, international and the Vietnamese community in India attended the Viet Nam Culture Night program organized by the Embassy in collaboration with Vietravel Company to introduce culture, cuisine, music, fashion, traveling to Viet Nam with professional musicians and chefs from the Viet Nam Association of Culture and Cuisine (VCCA). Vietnamese Culture Night took place in a bustling atmosphere, imbued with Vietnamese culture. The program was very well received by guests and friends. The guests happily participated in the experience of ethnic musical instruments and took souvenir photos with Vietnamese artists.
The 77th Anniversary of Viet Nam’s National Day and Viet Nam Culture Night have made a good impression on both Indian and international friends.
