Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai Visits HCL Technology Group

Implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW on breakthrough development in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, on the morning of February 13, 2025, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai, along with heads of the Political, Economic, Cultural, Trade, and Science and Technology departments, and staff of the Embassy, visited HCL Tech Group, one of the leading multinational technology corporations in India and the world. During the visit, the embassy delegation toured the cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI) laboratories, the art museum (established by Mr. Shiv Nadar, the founder of HCL Tech, to bring art closer to HCL Tech employees and partners), and planted a commemorative tree on the company’s premises.

Mr. Sanjay Gupta, Vice President of HCL Tech Group and Director of HCL in Viet Nam, expressed his joy and honor in welcoming the delegation led by Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai to the headquarters of HCL Tech. He noted that HCL is a leading global technology corporation with a presence in over 60 countries, partnering with major global IT companies such as NVIDIA, Microsoft, Google, CISCO, and AMD to provide technology services and solutions to customers. Mr. Gupta happily announced that HCL Tech’s offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are operating well and effectively, providing technology solutions to customers worldwide. The company is creating jobs for approximately 1,000 Vietnamese people and plans to expand its business in Viet Nam. HCL is also collaborating with 19 universities in Viet Nam to train high-quality technology human resources. HCL is the first Indian IT company to receive the High-Tech Enterprise Certification from the Ministry of Science and Technology in December 2023 and is among the top employers in 2024.

Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai expressed his pleasure in visiting HCL Tech’s headquarters in Noida, India. He appreciated the informative tour of the cybersecurity and AI laboratories. The ambassador reported on Viet Nam’s socio-economic development achievements and investment attraction in recent times, emphasizing that Viet Nam prioritizes the development of science, technology, and innovation in the coming years. He affirmed the commitment to support and facilitate HCL Tech’s expansion in Viet Nam to create more jobs and assist Viet Nam in training high-quality human resources in information technology, artificial intelligence, and semiconductors, contributing to the realization of the goal of becoming a developed country by 2045.
