At the meeting, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai presented a congratulatory telegram from General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong congratulating Mr. M. Kharge on his being elected as President of INC. The Ambassador emphasized the long-standing, friendly relations between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the National Congress Party during the struggle for national independence and national development since the middle of the 20th century, cultivated by President Ho Chi Minh, Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and generations of leaders of both sides.
INC Chairman Mallikarjun Kharge expressed his admiration for Vie Nam’s persistence to independence and national reunification of the Vietnamese people, and highly appreciated the development of Vietnam in recent years as well as its contributions to and role in the international arena. He emphasized that Vietnam, India, the two Communist Parties of Vietnam, and the Indian National Congress Party have good traditional relations; affirming the desire to continue to preserve and promote this relation. Mr. Kharge said that the two countries and two parties have many similar outlooks, striving for peace and prosperity in each country, region, and world.
Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai thanked President M. Kharge for the Indian leader’s words. Mr. Hai shared the important guidelines and guidelines that the Communist Party of Vietnam has set out at the XIII Congress as well as the strong developments in the two countries’ relations recently. The Ambassador expressed Viet Nam’s desire to work closely with India as well as the Indian National Congress Party for the development of each country as well as peace and stability in the region and the world.
The Indian National Congress is the oldest traditional political party in India with a history of more than 130 years of establishment and development, including more than 60 years in power.
