At the second Uttar Pradesh International Trade Fair (UPITS) at India Expo Center & Mart from September 25-29, 2024 in Greater Noida city, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai had a meeting and discussion with the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Yogi Adityanath on the afternoon of September 25, 2024.
At the meeting, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai congratulated the economic development achievements of Uttar Pradesh as well as the success of the 2nd UPITS under the vision and leadership of the Chief Minister. The Ambassador expressed his joy that Vietnam is a Partner Country at the UPITS. The Ambassador announced that the traditional and friendly relations between Vietnam and India in general and with Uttar Pradesh have a solid foundation of cultural, civilizational and people-to-people exchanges dating back thousands of years. This relationship is continuously nurtured by the leaders and people of the two countries and currently the two countries are comprehensive strategic partners of each other. The Ambassador shared the goals and expectations of the Prime Ministers of the two countries during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s state visit to India (July 31-August 1, 2024) and expressed his desire to strongly promote further cooperate in tourism, investment, and trade with the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr. Yogi Adityanath welcomed and thanked Vietnam for participating and being the only partner country at the 2nd UPITS. The Prime Minister said that Uttar Pradesh is increasingly developing dynamically, accounting for about 1/10 of India’s GDP and is striving to achieve the goal of becoming a 1,000 billion USD economy by 2027. Uttar Pradesh state has abundant human resources and the largest population in India (240 million people). There are many production centers here, including electronics, telephones, and textiles. The Uttar Pradesh state government values the role of small and medium-sized enterprises, considering them a resource that not only contributes to economic and social development but also creates jobs for people. The Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh wants Vietnamese businesses to invest in the state; promote trade cooperation, share textile experiences, and increase tourism connections, especially spiritual tourism with 6 Buddhist relics in the state.
In response, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai said that many Vietnamese businesses want to invest in India, especially in the fields of electric vehicles, green energy, petrochemicals, steel…, and hopes the Uttar Pradesh state government will create favorable conditions. Convenient for Vietnamese businesses to do business and invest here. On this occasion, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai proposed opening a direct flight connecting Vietnam with Uttar Pradesh state, to contribute to promoting the economy and tourism between the two countries.
The state of Uttar Pradesh is home to many Buddhist relics, accounting for two-quarters of Buddhist holy places, including Varanasi – where the Buddha turned the wheel of Dharma and Kushinagar – where the Buddha entered nirvana, attracting many Vietnamese Buddhists to make pilgrimages every year./.
