Indo-Vietnam Solidarity Committee on the occasion of the National Day of Vietnam in 2020 today paid floral tribute to the great leader of the toiling masses of the world over and the legendary statesman President Ho Chi Minh at his Bust at the ITC Square situated at the crossing of Ho Chi Minh Sarani (Road) and Jawaharlal Nehru Road in Kolkata.
The square and the Bust was beautifully decorated with flowers and banners to celebrate the National Day of Vietnam. While paying tribute to the Bust, the speakers extended their warmest greetings to the people and the Government of Socialist Republic of Vietnam on their National Day. Despite certain restrictions in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, thousands of passers by at the intersection paid their tributes to Uncle Ho and hoped that friendly relations would further strengthen between India and Vietnam.
In the afternoon a small get together was organized to celebrate the National Day of S.R. Vietnam at the office of Indo-Vietnam Solidarity Committee. In view of Covid 19, a limited number of members and invitees participated in the celebration but all the participant were unanimous in their expressions that the people to people diplomacy between India and Vietnam need to be further expended to ensure the peace and progress and development in the Asian region.
