The Ambassador paid an official visit to the state of Andhra Pradesh, meets Chief Minister

From September 18-20, 2024, Vietnamese Ambassador to India Nguyen Thanh Hai paid an official visit to the state of Andhra Pradesh, one of India’s most strategically located and dynamically developing states with growth rate of 17% in the fiscal year 2023 – 2024. The Ambassador met with leaders and the business community of the state.

On the morning of September 19, 2024, the Ambassador paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu. The Ambassador personally congratulated the Chief Minister and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on their victory in the recent Indian elections, helping to consolidate the TDP’s indispensable position in the NDA ruling coalition. The Ambassador highly appreciated the strong growth of Andhra Pradesh in recent years with a growth rate reaching double digits; Emphasizing the great potential for cooperation between Andhra Pradesh and Vietnam in the fields of trade, investment, tourism, and people-to-people diplomacy on the foundation of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and India.

With the advantage of having the second longest coastline in India, many beautiful landscapes and Buddhist relics, the state of Andhra Pradesh can attract more Vietnamese tourists. Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai suggested that the two sides need to take advantage of their strengths to strengthen tourism connections and people-to-people diplomacy, and explore the possibility of increasing direct connections by air and sea. The Ambassador also asked the state government to create favorable conditions and have policies to encourage and create simpler and more favorable conditions for businesses from both sides to learn about investment opportunities and participate in fairs organized by the two sides. Each side organizes and increases two-way trade in goods that both sides have strengths and needs.

Chief Minister appreciated Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai for choosing Andhra Pradesh as the first state to visit after the House of Representatives election in India. He highly appreciated Vietnam’s strong development and expressed his hope that Vietnamese businesses would come to invest and cooperate in business. He agreed with the Ambassador’s proposals and assigned the authorities to have a coordinated implementation plan./.
