On May 10th, 2022, Deputy Chief of Mission, Dr. Do Thanh Hai paid a visit to Mr. Chandan Sinha, Director-General of the National Archives of India and Acting Director of the National Library of India in Kolkata. Established in 1891, the largest library in India is among the places having some of its space dedicated to Viet Nam named “Viet Nam Corner”.
Dr. Do Thanh Hai thanked the National Library of India for saving a beautiful and solemn place to showcase books, magazines, and publications in the Vietnamese language and about Viet Nam. He also expressed his wish to enhance research, library, and archive cooperation between the two countries. This polite greeting is to prepare for a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Viet Nam – India relations and the 132nd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, in Kolkata, State West Bengal between May 13th and 14th, 2022. The state of West Bengal has history and traditions associated with Viet Nam and is a home to a Monument of President Ho Chi Minh and a boulevard named after him.
